Reservations are made online through our Reserve Your Turkey page. Simply select an approximate weight range for your oven-ready turkey and place your deposit to hold your reservation.
Yes. A non-refundable deposit between $25–$40 (depending on turkey size, for birds ranging from 12–35+ lbs) is required to reserve your turkey. This deposit is deducted from your final total at pickup, and can be paid by major credit card through our online payment system.
Reservations are completed online through our website. Our phone line, (732) 970-5265, and email, Turkeys@SpringValleyNJ.com, are available for questions or additional information before or after you book — but the reservation itself is placed through our online form.
We recommend reserving in advance to guarantee your preferred size, as our turkeys are limited each season. Walk-in availability, if any, cannot be guaranteed — please call us at (732) 970-5265 ahead of time to check before visiting without a reservation.
We don't currently have a specific "order by" date published, but we do often stop taking reservations before Thanksgiving week. We recommend reserving as early as possible, since popular sizes may sell out as the holiday approaches.
Reserved turkeys not picked up by the scheduled pickup day are non-refundable, and the reserved size is forfeited and not guaranteed.
In addition to whole turkeys, we also offer raw diet turkey dog food, made from our own farm turkey. Availability varies by season — check our Raw Diet Dog Food page for current stock.
As a general guideline, plan for about 1 to 1.5 pounds of turkey per person if you'd like leftovers, or closer to 1 pound per person if you don't. Spring Valley oven-ready turkeys range from approximately 12 to 30+ pounds. Because our turkeys are fresh and only processed days before Thanksgiving, we cannot guarantee your exact weight in advance — please allow for variation of about a pound in either direction from your selected weight range.

Our Thanksgiving turkeys are fresh, deep-chilled, and processed at a nearby USDA facility only days before the holiday. As required by federal USDA law, they're stored at 26°F, which is colder than standard refrigeration but well above the temperature at which meat actually freezes (typically around 0°F or below). You may notice some ice in the bird's cavity or around the joints when you pick it up — this is completely normal and doesn't affect quality or taste; it's simply a result of the chilling process that keeps the turkey fresh and safe.
Our turkeys are raised in a cage-free, free-range environment with no added hormones, antibiotics, steroids, or preservatives, and are given nearly four times the space they need to roam freely in a low-stress environment. We prioritize humane farming practices over formal organic certification, which allows us to keep our turkeys accessible without cutting corners on how they're raised.
Locally raised turkeys spend less time in transit and storage, which means better flavor, less need for preservatives, and a fresher product overall. Buying local also supports small New Jersey farming families and keeps agriculture thriving in our community.
We don't offer public farm tours. Limiting outside contact with our flock helps protect our turkeys from disease and illness and keeps our small team focused on giving them the healthiest environment possible.
Brining is a great option if you want to add extra flavor — it's simply a matter of preference, not a requirement.
Spring Valley turkeys include giblets/neck.
Most standard 30-inch home ovens can accommodate turkeys up to about 35 lbs. If you've reserved a larger bird, it's worth double-checking your oven's interior dimensions ahead of time.
Your turkey will arrive deep-chilled, colder than standard refrigeration, hardened and tightly packaged as part of our USDA-required process. Keep it refrigerated at a cold setting until you're ready to cook, and don't be alarmed by ice in the cavity or around the joints — that's a normal result of the chilling process, not a sign of freezer burn or spoilage. If you're not cooking within a few days of pickup, plan to freeze it, and thaw safely in the refrigerator well before Thanksgiving.
